Principal's Message

Dear Hidden Hills School Community,

I am so proud to be the principal of Hidden Hills Elementary School and look forward to working together with all of our wonderful teachers, staff, students, and families! As you may know, Hidden Hills is one of the seven CaprForward schools in CUSD.  We are “re-imagining” and as a new Academy of Technology will implement a variety of innovative programs and strategies that support our school vision, “to educate students to be outstanding scholars and citizens of the 21st century”.

Our scholars receive instruction that integrates technology across all content areas.  The Kindergarten and 1st grade students use iPad minis in their classroom and all of our 2nd – 5th graders have chromebooks.  We are one of the Discovery Education schools in CUSD and our teachers will be trained to provide interactive instruction in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  In addition, we have created an Innovation Lab where students will have opportunities to explore areas of interest and solve problems.  Our “Creation Station” has recyclable items and tools that students can use to create and invent.  It will also have robots, desktop computers (for coding), a 3D printer, iPad minis, and a green screen for students to videotape what they have created. Please take a look at the Academy of Technology link and the short video on our website.

Something else that sets us apart from other schools in CUSD is our status as a Certified Energy Bus School!  The Energy Bus School Leadership Journey is a multi-year approach to creating a positive school culture with shared values, beliefs, and attitudes.  Hidden Hills is the 1st school in the nation to board the Energy Bus for Schools Leadership Journey!  Please join us in this journey as we fuel our ride with positive energy!

As always, I look forward to working together with all of you, as a team, to provide a “top-notch” educational experience for our students!  Thank you, in advance, for your partnership and support!

Ms. Sawyer
